Critically acclaimed London-based singer, songwriter and artist Marie Naffah makes her highly anticipated return with her new single ‘Rust & Blue’.
From the very first note, fans of Marie will be instantly captivated by her distinctively honey-soaked voice, her natural gift for storytelling and her ability to simply make people feel good with her music. She fuses classic lyricism (inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Joni Mitchell) with modern moments (Sharon Van Etten, Bleachers and Big Thief), striking the perfect balance of modernity and nostalgia.
“‘Rust & Blue’ follows two goofy lovers running around galleries at the weekend. I was inspired by the unconventional, slightly weird love stories in films like ‘Submarine’ (with my favourite Alex Turner soundtrack). I wanted it to be cinematic, and do what I always love doing in songwriting – which is blending surrealist quirks with real life feelings,” says Marie.
