After sharing new music recently with the tracks ‘Keep Møving’, ‘SWEET’ feat. Biig Piig and ‘Who Said’, acclaimed Danish artist MØ continues to showcase her new era with new single ‘Lose Yourself’, taken from her fourth album Plæygirl released on May 16 via RCA/Sony.
‘Lose Yourself’ was produced by Plæygirl collaborator Nick Sylvester, alongside contributions from School of X and Clementine Douglas, and is a playful and immediate track that combines electro-disco with Scandi-pop to create a sound that is distinct, self-assured, and very MØ. Alongside the track, MØ has shared a behind-the-scenes visualiser filmed during her recent European ‘Plæygirl’ live dates.
MØ says, “’Lose Yourself’ is about self-preservation and self-joy – about letting go in a healthy way, without losing each other in the process. I’ve found that staying connected to your community is one of the most vital ingredients for a healthy spirit. This song is a reminder to be vulnerable, take care of yourself, and care for those you love.
“I first wrote it in 2022 with my longtime collaborator Stint, then revisited it with my drummer and friend School of X. When Nick Sylvester came on to produce the final version, we were inspired by Joy Division — and a killer lunch plate from a local spot called Tekno in Nørrebro. Ronni Vindahl helped with finalizing the production, Micah Jasper added some cool elements, and Clementine Douglas helped us land the perfect flow in the songwriting.”
