Night Swimming release new single ‘Evergreen’

Bath-based five-piece Night Swimming have released their enveloping new single ‘Evergreen’. The first new music to be heard since their buzzy 2022 double-single ‘Freight Train’ / ‘A Wall’, new single ‘Evergreen’ further expands on the band’s sweeping dream-pop.

Taken under the wing of British producer Peter Miles (FIZZ, Orla Gartland), the band decamped the south west for Middle Farm Studios in Devon in 2023 to record their first body of work, with ‘Evergreen’ its bold, ambitious first taste.,Recorded live to tape, industrial rhythms are set against a colourful, atmospheric soundscape, with the band noting the influence of Beach House and Slowdive’s live shows for their “combination of sensory elements” and the resulting “deepening of emotional response”.

Speaking more on the inspiration behind new single “Evergreen”, vocalist and lyricist Meg Jones said: “‘Evergreen’ centres around the uncertainty of not knowing where you stand in a relationship. Despite this, it is also an expression of deep feeling for someone.”
