Multi-BRIT and Mercury-nominated singer-songwriter Olivia Dean returns with the release of her brand new song ‘Touching Toes’, out via Capitol Records.
Teased throughout her UK and European tours, as well as at her debut UK headline festival performance at Love Supreme this summer, ‘Touching Toes’ follows Olivia’s recently released track ‘Time’ – the first track release since her critically acclaimed debut album Messy. Her second release of the year, this track further showcases Olivia’s effortless versatility and ability to navigate through genres with ease.
A testament to Dean’s ability to capture the essence of love and connection in her music, ‘Touching Toes’ is an ever-relatable track about the early stages of romantic relationships. It features poignant lyrics such as “They say your body knows when it’s really something, when we’re touching toes” and “That’s the warmth of loving, and he flows and flows like a river in my mind,” demonstrating Dean’s talent for crafting intimate and relatable narratives.
Opening with a soft acoustic guitar that underpins the entire track, ‘Touching Toes’ is a mellow and ethereal offering featuring atmospheric backing vocals. Produced by Zach Nahome (PinkPantheress, Maverick Sabre, Biig Piig), the song marks a return to Olivia’s more soulful, stripped back melodies and beautifully exemplifies her ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with soulful vocals.
On the new release, Olivia says: “‘Touching Toes’ is a delicate love-song about letting someone into your space and the feeling of the flip switching in your head when you know it’s love. It’s an intimate moment I wanted to share as a bookmark to the end of this chapter of music from me.”
