Poesie challenges the machine on experimental new single ‘Circuit Break’

London-based artist Poesie continues the rollout of her forthcoming EP Nature Mother with ‘Circuit Break,’ an ambitious and thought-provoking new single that questions what it means to remain human in an increasingly technology-driven world. Known for combining meaningful themes with inventive pop songwriting, Poesie once again refuses to take the expected route.

Built around glitching synths, fragmented beats and layered vocals, ‘Circuit Break’ embraces experimentation from the outset. The song deliberately sidesteps traditional verse-chorus structures, instead unfolding in a way that feels unpredictable and constantly shifting. Poesie’s theatrical background shines through in her vocal delivery, while the glitches and imperfections woven throughout the track feel entirely intentional, reflecting the song’s central themes. Messy, unconventional and unlike anything else currently landing in the inbox, Circuit Break feels refreshingly human in its refusal to conform.

Exploring everything from algorithm-driven censorship to misinformation and the growing influence of technology on everyday life, ‘Circuit Break’ delivers its message without losing sight of joy. As Poesie puts it herself, it’s “a party track – because joy is a protest.”
