Rodeo Boys’ upcoming new album Junior captures the quiet rebellion of a queer, blue-collar heart—unflinching, raw, and unafraid to tell the stories that others shy away from.

Their latest track from the Lansing, MI based punks, ‘Sam’s Song,’ is one of the album’s most gut-wrenching moments—a bruising anthem of catharsis and revenge, rooted in real-life trauma. The song is based on the true experience of vocalist/guitarist Tiff Hannay’s (they/them) best friend, who was groomed for six years by their 8th-grade English teacher. Some lyrics are pulled directly from their friend’s journals (used with permission), making ‘Sam’s Song’ a brutally honest and deep reckoning with betrayal and survival.
