Vancouver born independent artist Sarah Lacey released her first EP, I know nothing at all, in 2024, and her new single ‘i know who you are’ drops today, capturing a moment of reflection, release, and calling things exactly as they are.

“I wanted ‘i know who you are’ to feel like an indie pop anthem you can scream with your best friend in the car,” Sarah says. “The song looks back at people from your past and realises just how little they’ve changed since you once knew them. I kept thinking about the phrase “you haven’t changed at all,” and how not growing or learning since you were 17 isn’t really the compliment people think it is.

“The song sits somewhere between release and pettiness, the freeing feeling of knowing exactly who someone is and realizing they’re not your problem anymore. Recording it with my best friend made the whole experience even more cathartic, getting to yell these lyrics out together. ‘i know who you are’ is the first single from my newest project and will be released this summer.”
