Suffolk rising Alt-Pop-come-Indie-Rock duo Three Years Younger share the vibrant, theatrical and explosive new single ‘Pretty (But Not Supposed To Be Here)’ from the upcoming EP Pretty For Now.
Marking an exciting new chapter for the sisters, whose evocative songwriting and spine-tingling harmonies have already garnered significant attention across the UK, the new upcoming EP showcases some of their most expansive, musically rich and complete sounding work to date.
Co-written and produced by sisters Charlie and Megan Simpson (Three Years Younger) before being mixed by Max Jerry (Netflix, BBC, FOX, Olympics) and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Lana Del Rey, The Rolling Stones), the new single ‘Pretty’ is a prime example of this, jumping between rock guitar tones and flourishing into soaring harmonies and vibrant, theatrical moments. With a chorus to die for and some inventive musical ideas, the track is as exciting as it is memorable and catchy.
Haunting, intricate, musically rich, ‘Pretty’ is as comparable to The Last Dinner Party as it is to the likes of Imogen Heap and Birdie. Talking about the track, the pair explain: “After a few years of a creative trickle, we had to face the music; there was a lot of work to do to get us back on track. Faced with a feeling of being ‘below the glass ceiling’ compared to many young boy bands rising insanely fast, and reminiscing on the various forms of misogyny we had faced from past live gig experiences, ‘Pretty (But Not Supposed To Be Here)’ was born.”
