Track of the Week: ‘Scary Hot’ by Ralph

Ralph has announced that she has a new project on the way. The Toronto-based artist’s upcoming EP 222 will arrive on June 30.

Alongside the announcement, the pop diva has shared the six-track EP’s sizzling lead single ‘Scary Hot’ alongside an accompanying music video. She co-wrote the bouncy, frenetic song with Calgary-born pop up-and-comer Devon Cole and producer Michael Goldchain.

“My new EP has really been a fun evolution for me and I’ve pushed myself to try new things and explore a little more fearlessly,” said Ralph. “‘Scary Hot’ is also the first time I’ve explicitly mentioned my queerness in a song, since I’ve mostly sung about men in the past. It feels exciting to show this side of me in a way that feels fun and natural.”

The music video directed by Arden Grier reflects the song’s fiery tone, showing Ralph clad in black leather fending off an attacker and doing her eyeliner as she sings: “You said that you would never date a diva / But turns out, you like the taste of Libra.” [via Exclaim!]
