Wyldest – aka multi-hyphenate artist Zoë Mead – shares new standalone single ‘Secret Garden’.
“‘Secret Garden’ was written at the beginning of 2025 after I came across a childhood Yamaha keyboard. I felt drawn to the limitation of creating something out of one loop and the production grew from there,” says Mead.
“The song is an ode to the Springtime and represents the beginning of a new chapter. It’s a reminder that there’s always an opportunity to start over and there’s endless growth to be had in every direction. The lyrics, reflect on the ending of a relationship and the fragile period where everything is very retrospective “Passing in the street like strangers, something that we said we’d never do, I’d still do anything for you”. As the song progresses though, strength is found to emerge and start anew “I’ll grow roots in time”.
“We all start life as tiny roots, unswayed by worldly encounters and gradually we emerge as a network of more complex roots – life can get more complicated, but our ability to feel and love grows – life becomes more meaningful and sacred. I hope it helps listeners to embrace another spring season and leverage the chance to begin again in the best possible way(s).”
