Wyldest shares carefree new single ‘Tin Foil Girl’

Wyldest has shared her new forward-looking single ‘Tin Foil Girl’ today via Hand In Hive (TV Priest, Divorce, Blackaby). It is the third track to be taken from her new album, Feed The Flowers Nightmares, which comes out on September 9. It also follows a recent run of intimate solo slots at this year’s Glastonbury Festival and comes alongside confirmation of her UK headline tour this autumn.

‘Tin Foil Girl’ continues in the same expansive yet sophisticated vein that previous singles ‘Abilene’ and ‘The Best Is Yet To Come’ have showcased.

Wyldest’s latest release best embodies the optimistic outlook of her upcoming album. Its lyrics offer a call to action to let loose and “have a party with your body”. But its message is also imbued with a meditative undertone, which Wyldest describes as “organic happiness”, whereby facing up to anxieties and avoiding quick fixes for happiness can ultimately lead to true personal regrowth.

Speaking about the song, Wyldest says: “‘Tin Foil Girl’ is about finding your own superpower to achieve a real state of flow and what I’m coining ‘organic happiness.’ The kind of happiness that can only be achieved by doing something active rather than passive, activities that truly encourage growth.

“Having dealt with more anxiety than ever in the past few years, I’ve really had to battle this temptation for ‘quick fix’ happiness, as it doesn’t last and it can sometimes lead to worsened problems. I’m not particularly good at skateboarding, but it is therapy for me. I use it as a way of getting out of dark places and it works because I have no ego attached to it.

“Have a party with your body, make shapes and have a wonderful time doing it.”
