London-based French-Cameroonian artist and producer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB returns with her first release of the year, ‘Buying Time’, a reflective indie rock anthem co-written with acclaimed producer and songwriter Ben Matravers (hard life, Abbie Ozard).

Written in late 2023 during what would become one of her favourite studio sessions, the track marks a creative turning point for the artist. “Ben reached out to work and I really liked what I heard from him, even though I’d never worked with another producer before,” she says. “I was anxious going into it, but it ended up being one of my favorite sessions—just bouncing ideas back and forth, letting go of control, and making something honest.”

Driven by shimmering guitars, steady grooves, and a vocal performance that’s both vulnerable and assured, ‘Buying Time’ captures a moment of growth—one that still mirrors YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB’s mindset today.

“Even though it was written almost two years ago, it still speaks to where I’m at now. It’s about owning up to your actions, and letting go—just like I did in that room with Ben.”
