"The bridge is exactly the advice I would give to my 15-year-old self. Today is my 40th trip around the sun 🌞 so it felt Today is my 40th trip around the sun 🌞 so it felt like the perfect time to properly reintroduce myself to both new and longtime followers.For anyone new here — hi, I’m Helen, the person behind She Makes Music 👋What started as a tiny Tumblr page back in 2012 grew from a love of discovering and championing incredible female and non-binary artists, and somehow turned into 14 years of interviews, reviews, playlists, gig-going, discovering new favourite bands, and connecting with so many amazing people through music. It truly has changed my life! Lately, I’ve been feeling really inspired by the sense of community that grassroots DIY music spaces can create — especially after attending Noise Annoys Festival in Sheffield again last weekend. It reminded me how powerful inclusive music spaces can be, and why I’d love to help build more of that here in Lincoln too.Honestly, the support and response recently has meant so much to me. Thank you for being here, whether you’ve followed for 10 years or 10 minutes.
