BEEFCAKE have released their new single ’Smothering’ via Marathon Artists. It is the second track from the duo’s forthcoming debut EP Detrimentors and offers another glimpse into the growing world of BEEFCAKE. Detrimentors is released on May 2.

‘Smothering’ is a beguiling track. It is sparsely arranged with strings, harps and synths emerging as Dora’s unique vocal glides over the top. The result is a deeply affecting, atmospheric and emotional single that follows on from the duo’s previous release ‘Near-hearted’.

Dora talks through the meaning of the track – “‘Smothering’ is about someone giving up on you, as you reach that rock bottom. It’s a particular painful memory that I wanted to explore, and turn it into something beautiful and cathartic.”
