Caitlin Starr delivers new single ‘Pass Me By’, an anthem for feeling left behind

Caitlin Starr returns with ‘Pass Me By’, a melodic pop-punk anthem that explores the uneasy feeling of watching life move forward without you. Taken from her forthcoming EP Speed Saves, the single pairs crunchy guitars with soaring hooks to capture the push and pull between standing still and trying to keep pace with the world around you.

Despite the EP’s fixation on speed, ‘Pass Me By’ doesn’t rely on breakneck tempos to make its point. Instead, it leans into a more measured, anthemic approach, balancing buoyant melodies with a weight that gives the song real emotional punch. Crunchy guitar riffs drive the track forward while Caitlin’s confident vocal carries the frustration and longing at its heart, turning feelings of paralysis into something surprisingly uplifting without ever pretending everything is okay.

The accompanying visualiser beautifully mirrors that emotional tension. As Caitlin rollerblades through New York City, moments of quiet solitude sit alongside the constant movement of the city around her, perfectly reflecting the song’s central idea of feeling left behind while life carries on regardless. It’s a thoughtful pairing of sound and visuals that proves ‘Pass Me By’ doesn’t need to race to leave an impression.
