Norwegian pop sensation Dagny has shared her new single ‘Heartbreak In The Making’, ushering in a new era for the Tromsø born musician; the first taste of the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2020 debut album Strangers / Lovers.

Highlighting her reckless streak – by her own admission – ‘Heartbreak In The Making’ – co-written with Oliver Lundström (Carly Rae Jepsen) and Maria Hazell (Mabel, ALMA), is a slice of indie-pop perfection hinting at reference points such as The Cardigans, Alanis Morissette and Haim.

“I’m giving in when I know how it ends / You feel like a heartbreak in the making” Dagny sings in the track’s chorus, as she explores the impulsive side of her personality to a backdrop of psych-tinged guitar passages, pulsating drums and soaring harmonies.

Speaking on the lyrical inspiration behind ‘Heartbreak In The Making’, Dagny said: “‘Heartbreak In The Making’ is essentially about diving into something, even though you have that gut feeling that it’s never going to end well. It’s a bit like the first tequila shot at a bar; you know where the night is headed, but you do it anyway.”
