Faerie steps into the spotlight with second single ‘Showgirl’

Rising indie-pop artist Faerie returns with celestial ballad ‘Showgirl’ about recovering from a misogynistic relationship and being reborn after choosing her peace.

“Say you’ll only love me when you want me,” she sings in quiet desperation. Her sultry, ghostly vocals fill this Las Vegas painted landscape while LA producer Matty Bedrosian builds emotional intensity with eerie guitars and melancholic organ.

“I’m a recovering people pleaser, which is essentially the inspiration for this song,” explains Faerie. “It’s all the built upanger and confusion I felt when I allowed myself to be surrounded by toxic individuals gaslighting me inboth my personal life and music career. The worst part is that I let it happen because I hate the thoughtof people hating me. It came back to bite me when it took a toll on my mental health. I couldn’t take itanymore. My old self died when I left them. ‘showgirl’ is a cinematic retelling of this experience.”
