insha shares new single ‘Drifting’, and announces her debut EP 5:55, out November 11 on Fair Youth. The five track EP will also feature previous single ‘DGMTS’, and was produced by Samir Alikhanizadeh (David Byrne, FKA Twigs, Shygirl, Chloe & Halle), with ‘Drifting’ featuring additional credits from Cooper Holzman (Jordana, María Isabel).

Pulsing with an initial sense of boldness and bravado, ‘Drifting’ begins to shift pace before unfolding into a yearning, atmospheric soundscape on which insha embraces the throes of vulnerability.

In her words; “I was going through a very confusing weird teen romance the Summer I wrote ‘Drifting;. I was super mad at someone, and I was just like “I can’t stand you, I know you’re into me!” hahah. I was really inspired by REI AMI and her shifting songs, where she puts up a front and then switches up and reveals her truth. So I wanted to be kinda like “whatever boy bye” and then switch up and be like “actually I’m really hurt”. Not really deep, but I feel like a lot of people can feel that. This one was done in an afternoon with Cooper Holzman and then Samir Alikhanizadeh just like worked his magic as per usual. When I heard it I was like levitating. Love the signature Samir nature sounds too.”
