Faroese Pop-Soul singer-songwriter jazzygold is releasing her new single ‘ex-friends’, via the local imprint Tutl Records.
Following the intimate and heartfelt single ‘homerun’, released in late August, jazzygold’s new single explores the challenges that friendships can face, drawing from her own personal experience. Sometimes it’s not an ex-partner who destroys you the most—it’s the friends you thought you could always count on. ‘ex-friends’ is jazzygold’s way of calling out the fake friendships that left her picking up the pieces. It’s a song about betrayal, healing, and realising that the people closest to you can be the most toxic.
When opening up about the track, jazzygold shared “This track is for anyone who’s learned the hard way that friendship breakups can hurt more than any relationship drama. But it’s also about reclaiming your power, rebuilding yourself, and knowing karma will handle the rest. If you’ve ever been let down by people who should’ve had your back, “ex-friends” is your anthem. Sometimes losing people is the best thing that can happen—keep your circle real.”
