Kristeen Young unleashes her fury on ‘Full Scrotal Scorpio’

Kristeen Young takes aim at a world consumed by greed, conflict and excess on ‘Full Scrotal Scorpio’, the title track from her new album, released this Friday, October 23. The uncompromising DIY artist channels her frustration with society’s increasingly bleak direction into a ferocious piece of experimental art rock. Accompanied by drummer Jefferson Wayne “Baby Jef” White, Young creates something deliberately unsettling, confronting the listener with a sense of urgency and barely contained fury.

Opening with an almost whimsical piano melody, the track quickly descends into darker territory. Young’s piano remains central throughout, becoming increasingly dissonant and aggressive alongside distorted guitars and jarring rhythms. White’s cymbal-heavy drumming adds to the intensity, while frequent stops and starts create a disorientating, unpredictable listening experience. Young’s extraordinary vocal performance shifts between confrontational snarls, theatrical flourishes and commanding, almost operatic passages, with swirling harmonies adding another layer of unease.

There are occasional echoes of Nine Inch Nails in the track’s industrial textures, but Young’s fiercely individual approach refuses easy comparisons. Chaotic, confrontational and impossible to ignore, ‘Full Scrotal Scorpio’ transforms anger at the state of the world into something genuinely arresting.
