Larlin share haunting new single ‘Sondheim’

Emerging Brighton outfit Larlin return with ‘Sondheim’, a haunting and emotionally charged new single exploring the disorienting realities of chronic dissociation and its impact on identity.

Built on a delicate tension between stillness and intensity, ‘Sondheim’ drifts through hushed, introspective verses before erupting into soaring, shoegaze-tinged crescendos. The track mirrors the experience it captures: moments of numb detachment punctuated by overwhelming emotional clarity, blurring the line between presence and absence.

Layered guitars and immersive production create a dense, atmospheric backdrop, while Maryann’s unmistakable vocal cuts through with both fragility and force.

“With ‘Sondheim’, I tried to encapsulate the complex feelings of not always feeling real”, explains Maryann. “I wanted to express how easy it is to have your opinions swayed when caught up in this mindset, and let others’ views of you override your sense of self”.
