Chinese-German artist LIA LIA returns with her highly anticipated new single, ‘Boogiepop Blitzkrieg Blob’ – via Alter Music, delivering her signature blend of pristine alternative pop – unapologetic, unhinged, and irresistibly fun – while retaining the emotional intensity she’s become known for.
Produced by Franco Reid (Wisp, After and Tanukichan), ‘Boogiepop Blitzkrieg Blob’ sees LIA LIA waving goodbye to her babypunk era as she enters a bold new chapter. At its core is a band-driven sound anchored by pulsing live drums and throbbing bass, colliding with roaring modular textures, analogue drum machines, playful vocal glitches, and swelling synths drenched in nostalgia.
This new era first gained inspiration in New York, where she performed at the invitation of acclaimed contemporary artist Anne Imhof in DOOM — a large-scale immersive performance commissioned by the Park Avenue Armory that fused theater, dance, skateboarding, and music into a sprawling three-hour production. Sharing the stage with an all-star cast including Munky, Talia Ryder, Eliza Douglas, and prima ballerina Devon Teuscher, LIA LIA discovered a creative community that reflected the world she had long been building within herself.
With ‘Boogiepop Blitzkrieg Blob,’ LIA LIA continues to push creative boundaries across music, fashion, and visual art — crafting a world that is intimate yet cinematic, fragile yet explosive, and unmistakably her own.
