No Joy announce new EP with dreamy single ‘Big Life, Big Leaf’

No Joy have announced their forthcoming EP Big Life, Big Leaf, due for release on August 21, alongside its vibrant title track. Led by Jasamine White-Gluz and created in collaboration with Fire-Toolz and Jorge Elbrecht, the new single arrives following the release of 2025’s acclaimed album Bugland and offers another glimpse into No Joy’s ever-evolving sonic world.

Packed with 90s nostalgia, ‘Big Life, Big Leaf’ is a dreamlike swirl of shimmering guitars, bright synths and irresistible hooks. Beneath its layers of shoegaze textures lies a surprisingly bouncy, danceable pulse, while the dramatic chorus proves impossible to shake. The song washes over the listener rather than demanding attention, creating a hazy atmosphere that immediately conjures images of sun-soaked summer days. Its accompanying visuals and artwork further lean into the track’s psychedelic 90s aesthetic, perfectly complementing its colourful sound.

White-Gluz says: “Lyrically, I wrote and recorded these vocals in one take during an emotional time this past spring. I was exploring the boundless pain one feels when it is time to say goodbye to someone or something. It is also during those moments that it is important to remember, ironically, to have joy. To mourn is also to celebrate.”
