Phoebe Green shares hushed ballad ‘I Could Love You’

Manchester’s brightest rising star, Phoebe Green, shares a sweet new taster from her recently announced forthcoming EP, in the form of ‘I Could Love You’. Showcasing a different side to her artistry, the song is a soft, wide-eyed ode to her girlfriend. It comes soon after the release of the expansive single ‘Embarrass Me’, both of which will feature on her Steph Marziano (Picture Parlour, Bartees Strange, Hayley Williams) produced EP Ask Me Now, set for release on May 24.

Speaking about ‘I Could Love You’, Phoebe says “it explores the mixed emotions when meeting someone new, wanting to hold back in a self preservation sense but also having a gut feeling that it’s the right thing to pursue. For a really long time, love songs made me feel too vulnerable and I found it easier to convey bitterness than hope, so getting to a point where I can write an openly queer song about falling in love is really affirming.
