Sage Roadknight dissects society in eerie indie-disco hymn ‘Wake Up’

Building their unique sound further, Melbournite Sage Roadknight (she/they) paves their brilliant chrome path further with their newest song ‘Wake Up’, with her signature Future Alt-Pop style.

Already working with huge names in the industry, ‘Wake Up’ was co-produced and mixed by Ricki Rae – producer of Taylor Sheridan’s number one album in Australia and also known for working with Living End, Baby Animals and Tina Arena.

This retro-inspired single weaves in a synth-infused, decadent and hyper-emotional exploration of late stage capitalism and the class disparity. It doesn’t shy away from emotion, bursting with rage and euphoria.

With its disco vibes, there’s a hint of tragedy to the dance-ready beat. Sage describes this song as: “A song that will get you dancing and singing your heart out about how the system has wronged you and the majority of the world. [It] voices our frustration about the enormous disparity between the working class and the ultra rich 1% of the population.”
