Silly Boy Blue delivers her dream-like indie cut ‘Not A Friend’

Rising French emo-pop newcomer Silly Boy Blue follows up with another stellar offering in ‘Not a Friend’ – released via Sony Music France.

The latest single from her forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Not a Friend’ infuses dreamy indie-pop with nostalgic shoegaze vibes for a catchy, cathartic end result: “We’re not friends / Cause I don’t kiss my friends / We’re not strangers, I wish we were / I wish just to get over you”, Silly Boy Blue laments during the opening verse, setting the tone for the song’s lyrical exploration of confusing relationships and blurred boundaries.

Silly Boy Blue made the following statement about ‘Not a Friend’: “I wrote ‘Not a Friend’ because I was dating someone, like really dating, but he kept calling us friends. So, I came back home after a date and wrote this song. I repeated ‘not a friend’ so many times because I was tired of hearing that, as we were walking in every street, hands in hands and kissing, obviously – that’s not friendship. Classic situationship case here.”
