tinyumbrellas announces new EP and shares single/video ‘Zombies’

tinyumbrellas (they/she), the moniker of 20-year-old Leeds-based, Norfolk-born DT, announces their new EP today, Somewhere To Fall Asleep, out June 28 via independent label Sevenfoursevensix. The news comes with fresh single ‘Zombies’ and its music video – an evocation of the grey area between love and friendship, playing out across the edgelands of smalltown rural Britain.

‘Zombies’ joins earlier cuts ‘Life of an Extra’ and ‘Between The Same Lines’ on the forthcoming EP, which is the follow up to their 2022 self-release Kaleidoscope Towns. Teaming up with producer Josh Scarbrow (Arlo Parks, Matt Maltese, Etta Marcus), the charming and beautifully wrought new single exemplifies the quirky, dreamlike depth synonymous with tinyumbrellas music so far.

On its story, tinyumbrellas reflects; “‘Zombies’ tells the story of two childhood best friends who have grown up together and are each other’s favourite person. The narrator is questioning whether this relationship is a best friends to lovers story, while the other person is seemingly blissfully ignorant from the narrator’s point of view.”
