Tommy Lefroy share new single ‘Girlhood, Godhood’

Tommy Lefroy are a musical powerhouse with an enduring, deep connection. The duo – Wynter Bethel and Tessa Mouzourakis – write, record, and produce their entire output, and have blown audiences away on stages across the UK, Europe and North America.

Following last month’s emphatic return with ‘Garden’ last month, Tommy Lefroy share new single ‘Girlhood, Godhood’ via LAB Records. Delicate in its introduction, the new cut builds to dizzying heights, echoing the lyrical inspiration behind it.

“This song started as a conversation in trust; the concession of a story that was very hard to tell. It’s about feeling objectified and taken advantage of, feeling discarded and voiceless” explain the duo. “It’s about a trauma many can speak to, and the isolation that endures when that experience is called into question. The title, ‘Girlhood, Godhood’, is in reference to this feeling – so beautifully encapsulated in the last lines of a poem called “Churching” by Kristin Chang. “Godhood is just / like girlhood: a begging to be believed.”
