YARA embraces the devil on her shoulder on self-indulgent new anthem ‘Bad Behaviour’

After starting 2023 off with a bang with the release of her acclaimed single ‘Back Of The Uber,’ the first showing from her debut EP Lonely Love Affair – out May 3 – Palestinian neo-soul singer-songwriter YARA returns with her second single off her upcoming debut project, ‘Bad Behaviour.’

A delightfully bitter track that proves you don’t want to be in her bad books, ‘Bad Behaviour’ finds Yara choosing not to be the bigger person in a toxic situation where her generosity and goodwill were shattered by someone not caring about the impact of their actions or decisions.

Through the track, Yara takes back power over the situation, embracing the devil on her shoulder to channel her hurt and pain into vitriolic thoughts in order to stoop to their level and give them a taste of their own medicine.

Speaking about the cathartic experience of writing the song, Yara says: “When I wrote this, I enjoyed the freedom of thinking negatively about this person without limiting myself to being the bigger person (which I usually try to be).”

Yara’s voice shines over gorgeous synth swells, fuzzy bass, arpeggiated chimes and atmospheric guitar plucks to create a warm, tender and lavish soundscape, the deceptively sweet sound of the track contrasting against her audacious and heated words.
