Charging back with their first new music since 2023, Isle of Wight band Coach Party have returned with the announcement of their sophomore album Caramel. Officially arriving September 26 via Chess Club Records, the self-produced project uncorks a bottle of energy, scream-along lyrics, and an introspection that melds the four-piece’s collective headspace these past few years. Over the course of its 10 songs, the record brazenly dissects the feelings of isolation and loneliness that all-too-often plague us in this hyper-online era – and the invigoration of being picked up by your friends that brings you back to life. For all of the instances of heartbreak, self-loathing and biting your tongue for the benefit of others, Caramel, at its core, is a celebration of the genuine human connection we find on the other side of those truths and shared experiences.
Alongside the news of the record’s upcoming release, Coach Party has debuted their new single ‘Girls!’, first premiered by Steve Lamacq on his BBC 6Music show. The track offers up a stereo-shattering first taste of Caramel, with a message of community as its heartbeat. Driven by a call-and-response chorus that commands as much as it rages, front-woman Jess Eastwood demands “where the fuck are my girls?” throughout. The track arrives alongside an official music video that reimagines one of the band’s gigs as a surreal retreat called “Club Caramel” — a place where people can let go, explore new sides of themselves, and feel completely free.
Adds Eastwood about the song: “It’s a mosh-inciting, live hype song along the lines of “for the next 3 minutes, whoever you are, you’re all my girls and you’re all gonna fucking mosh. When it’s over, you can go back to being whoever you usually are – but for right now, let loose and have fun.”
