Indie-rock singer-songwriter Eliza McLamb announces her sophomore record Good Story, set for release October 24 via Royal Mountain Records. The new record cements herself as one of the next best women in rock, balancing guitar-laced instrumentals with lyrics doused in a clever observational wit. With the announce she shares the first taste of the album, ‘Like the Boys.’
About the new song McLamb reflected, “’Like the Boys’ is about being a girl among the boys. I wanted to gain their authority, their audacity. I wanted them to love me like they loved each other. And looking back now, I see how we all played pretend with one another. I also see how play can be violent.”
Good Story’s announce follows last month’s single ‘Quitting,’ a tongue-in-cheek, pulsing guitar track produced by Sarah Tudzin. The standalone song, along with the album, was recorded with a stacked legion of musicians including Jacob Blizard (Lucy Dacus) on guitar, Jason McGerr of Death Cab for Cutie on drums, and Sarah Goldstone (Chappell Roan, Boygenius) on keys.
