COWZ, the vibrant alt-pop meets electronic duo from Brighton, are back with their latest single, ‘UR FAVE SONG (miss the fun)’ – a bright, punchy anthem that brings their unique signature pop-twist to a breakup track. This dynamic duo made up of Natasha Nicholl and Saga Wahlström, wrote, produced, and performed the song, making it a fully immersive creation that spotlights their distinct musicality and style.
With its playful approach and tongue in cheek lyrics, ‘UR FAVE SONG (miss the fun)’ is a catchy, energetic blend of hyper-pop and electronic elements that keeps listeners hooked. Layered with synths, textured beats, and lively production, the track pulls listeners into a sound of upbeat pop with a bold edge. Inspired by current contemporary pop icons like Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, and Griff, COWZ encapsulates the pulse of modern pop, infusing it with their signature quirk and edge.
“It has the drama of an epic love song that makes you wanna cry in the club bathroom followed by a drop that makes you want to dance. Combined with lyrics that flirt with the idea of “maybe going back to my ex isn’t a bad shout”, the production highlights the melodrama of what if’s with Griffy inspired airy vocals and acoustic guitar, followed by an electronic chorus with Chappell Roan tongue in cheek lyrics, building up to a bass drop in line with brat summer. All of this is tied in with a bass line full of attitude, percussive breaths, and arpeggiated bells,” says Saga.
