Following the incredible response to her debut single ‘Baby Why,’ 20-year-old Mississippi-born and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sarah Cothran unveils her second single ‘Funeral’ via Republic Records.

On ‘Funeral,’ Cothran collaborated with Matt Maltese, who originally wrote and performed ‘As The World Caves In,’ the cover song she first captured audiences with. Together, they wrote and produced ‘Funeral’ which takes the listener through the journey of losing oneself to a relationship.

Sarah shares, “’Funeral’ is a really special song for me. The entire song is a metaphor for losing yourself and mourning the old you. In life we change so much with time, relationships, and experiences that you can sometimes feel lost along the way. This song is about reflecting on that different version of yourself and feeling all of those mixed emotions.”
