Wyse releases new single ‘Holding On’

Wyse releases new single ‘Holding On’, today via Launchpad/EMI North.

‘Holding On’ is the brilliant comeback single from Wyse. It is a cathartic release in two-and-a-half minutes of snarling vocals and glorious, widescreen guitars that re-introduces Wyse to the UK music scene. Punchy and direct, it sets out the new, confident Wyse who recently decamped to Hebden Bridge and has found a new freedom of expression.

Wyse speaks on ‘Holding On’: “Growing up with a Church of England vicar as a parent and being a huge d*ke… it was not a match made in heaven. In lockdown, I made the decision to walk away from my relationship with my family. In ‘Holding On’, I vent out my mixed feelings of anger and grief, along with an incredible sense of freedom to become whoever I want to become.”

‘Holding On’ is the first new music from Wyse this year and sets up the next chapter. For the first time they’ve played lead guitar on a track, an illustration of the growing confidence Wyse has as a writer and performer.
