bis announce new album Systems Music For Home Defence and share first single ‘Lucky Night’

bis are back with their new album Systems Music For Home Defence. The album will be released on November 18 via Last Night From Glasgow. First single ‘Lucky Night’ is out now.

The band describe the new album as “born out of a wistful, slightly corrupted nostalgia for a simpler era that may or may not have existed at all. A time before life’s realities kicked in and optimism remained the default setting.

“The emotional safety net of Italo pianos, the same breakbeats on everything, the hoover synths are all in place along with trademark nagging, spidery guitar riffs and big anthemic harmony filled choruses – it’s pitched somewhere between an Indie Top 10 compilation and a Smash Hits Rave tape, equal amounts of Ecstasy and XTC.

As with everything bis though, this is no simple rehash of influences, Systems Music For Home Defence is undeniably pop facing, hook laden and as self-deprecating as ever, with the odd heartbreak along the way.”
